Debbie Hobbie

Fayette County CEO's Facilitator

Debbie Hobbie of Vandalia has been selected by the Fayette County CEO Board to be the new Facilitator for students from Brownstown, Ramsey, St. Elmo and Vandalia beginning with the 2018-2019 class this fall.

She has a BS in education from Greenville College and a MS in counseling from Eastern Illinois University.  She has been teaching for the past 34 years in public education and retired in May of 2017.

“I am so excited about CEO’s experiential approach to education!  The class allows students time for trial and error…success and failure…all of which are the best type of learning! I’m anxious to spend time with these high school business professionals in a completely different atmosphere than a traditional classroom setting. I can’t wait to see what they achieve during this program.”  She is eager to learn about business while using her skills as an educator to develop the class.

Mrs. Hobbie is a Vandalia High School graduate and has lived in Vandalia the majority of her life.  She is married to Glen and they have three adult children.  She lives in rural Vandalia where she enjoys being involved in her church, the outdoors, reading and spending time with her family.
