Roger Sanders

Bond County CEO's Facilitator

Roger Sanders of Greenville has been selected as the facilitator of the new Bond County CEO program for students from Mulberry Grove and Greenville High Schools.

Sanders has a BS in Agricultural Communications from the University of Illinois and an MA in Business Leadership from Upper Iowa University. He has spent most of his career in business development, sales, marketing and management in the fields of agriculture and publishing. He will continue doing business development on a limited basis.

“Small towns work hard to create business growth and it’s time to realize that ‘growing our own’ through entrepreneurship is a great way of achieving some that goal. The CEO program is the most viable way to sustain our smaller communities that I have seen in years and I am excited to be helping students ‘explore their possibilities.”

“I also look forward to the interaction between the students, their mentors and investors and local businesses. CEO can help rural economies by making each of us more aware of what we have available in the local market place. That awareness will help guide students to find niches for which to develop new businesses.”

“I grew up involved in farming and a farm related business and by the time I graduated from Greenville High School, I had learned the basics of doing business successfully from my family. Things are different today and we need to team our knowledge and experiences with the curiosity and intelligence of this generation to increase their chances of success in a rapidly changing world economy. CEO can help do that!”

Sanders is a member of the St. Louis AgriBusiness Club, recently served a six-year term on the Alumni Board of the College of ACES at the University of Illinois and also recently completed seven years on the Greenville City Council. In his spare time, he enjoys attending sporting events, playing golf badly, and touring the country on his motorcycle/sidecar and writing about those travels.
