Granite City CEO's Facilitator

Karen Greenwald earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Illinois State University and attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville for her teaching certification. She earned her Masters in Information Science and Learning Technologies from the University of Missouri-Columbia in May, 2006.

For eight years she worked in Corporate America at Banquet Foods, Pet Incorporated and Peabody Coal Company. That was her first career. Her second career was being a stay-at-home mom and a room mother for her three children, Dustin, Melissa and Dillon. Her third career is a business technology teacher at Granite City High School and the Granite City CEO Facilitator.

Karen is a 1972 Granite City High School alumnus. She has been teaching in the Business Department at GCHS for nineteen years and enjoys her teaching career. Her extra-curricular assignments have included department chair for the Business/Family and Consumer Sciences Department, and sponsors of the Warrior Yearbook and the Hockey Club. Currently, she is the facilitator at Granite City High School for the CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities) program along with being the head coach for the Warrior Girls’ Golf Team and sponsor of the Spirit Club and Photography Club.
