Julie Siebers

Belleville CEO's Facilitator

Julie Siebers earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Greenville College and attended Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville for her teaching certification. For twelve years she worked at CPI Corp. and CPI Photo Finish/Fox Photo holding various positions from staff accountant to Vice President Controller. After Kodak sold CPI Photo Finish/Fox Photo to Wolf Camera, she started her second career as a business teacher at Belleville East High School. She has been teaching in the Business Department at Belleville East for 15 years and enjoys her time working with students and now CEO investors and community leaders.

During her time at Belleville East High School, she helped start and co-sponsor the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) on the East campus for the last five years. She actively sends students to area, state, and national competitions. She also helped start and co-sponsor the National Business Honor Society on the East campus for the last three years. Her students have actively participated in the Southwestern Illinois College Software Application Competition since 2008. She coordinates with the assistance of the FBLA Club the spring Red Cross Blood Drive and Family Food Drive. She also volunteers currently on a variety of committees such as Lancer Improvement Association (Treasurer), Star Team, and Lancer Medallion Committee.

Outside of teaching, she is currently the comptroller for the Belleville Teachers Union Local 434 since 2009. She has been a long time member of First Christian Church of Belleville where she was the volunteer treasurer from 2006 to 2013. She also held the volunteer treasurer position for Dorchester Swim & Tennis Club from 1998 to 2011.

Mrs. Siebers has been a long time resident of the west end of Belleville for over 30 years. She is married to Doug Siebers and has two sons. Her oldest son, Taylor, is a 7th grade Social Studies teacher and Head Girls Varsity Soccer Coach in Anderson, Indiana. Hunter will be a sophomore at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.

After her first year, Mrs Siebers commented, "It was an honor and privilege to be the Belleville CEO facilitator.  I truly believe that this non-traditional experience is an excellent way to teach students how to become entrepreneurial thinkers.  We met so many talented people and learned so much about their businesses and the opportunities that lie within our own community.  It has made me even prouder to be a Belleville resident.  It is our hope that our students will also become connected to the Belleville business world and community as a whole."
